Who are we and what do we do?

So who are we?

The PTA is a major part of our school life and it exists to bring children, staff, carers and parents together in support of the school. All of us involved volunteer our time and/or other skills to the help with this.

What do we do?

Simply put what we do falls under three headings:

1. Fundraising – we organise a variety of events throughout the school year, for example quizzes, fayre’s, raffles and a barbeque known as “The Sausage Sizzle”. The money raised from these helps us with the other two elements.
2. Organising events for the children – over the course of the year we organise events and other activities for the children for example the Christmas Party and trip to the pantomime. 
3. Wish lists – the teaching staff of each year put together “wish lists” to aid them in the classroom and to support the learning activities of the children. Each year we try to donate a sum or sums of money to the school to help with these requests. For example in years past we have bought a new PA system, water bottles for the children and contributed to updating/replacing reading books. Its worth noting that PTA funds are not generally spent on improving the fabric of the school building, this is responsibility of the board of governors.
